Sharp Enough to Sell. Smart Enough for MLS, Zillow, Airbnb, and Your Website.
Professional real estate photography is not only about taking great images. It is also about delivering them correctly.
A beautiful photo can lose quality fast if it is exported the wrong way. MLS systems, Zillow, Airbnb, Vrbo, websites, social media, and booking platforms all compress images after upload. That means the file we deliver has to be strong enough to survive that process while still being practical enough to upload, share, and use.
That is why our real estate images are delivered as clean, high-quality, web-ready files built for modern property marketing.
Our Standard Real Estate Image Delivery Settings
For most real estate photography deliveries, we use:
File type: JPEGColor space: sRGBQuality: 90Image size: 3500 pixels on the long edgeResolution: 300 ppiOutput sharpening: Screen, StandardWatermark: No watermarkFile size limit: No file size limit
These settings are chosen to create a strong master image that performs well across multiple platforms.
Why We Deliver JPEG Images
JPEG is the most widely accepted image format for real estate marketing.
It works with MLS systems, Zillow, Airbnb, Vrbo, property websites, email, social media, and client galleries. It also keeps the image file size manageable without sacrificing the professional quality needed to market a home, rental, commercial space, or luxury property.
In simple terms, JPEG gives our clients a polished image they can actually use almost anywhere.
Why We Use sRGB Color
sRGB is the safest color space for online images.
Every screen displays color a little differently. Phones, tablets, laptops, websites, and listing platforms all process color in their own way. By using sRGB, we help the image look more consistent across the places where buyers, renters, guests, and agents will actually see it.
This helps protect the color of walls, floors, landscaping, skies, water views, lighting, and interior finishes.
Why Image Quality Is Set to 90
Many people assume image quality should always be exported at 100. That sounds logical, but it is usually not the smartest choice for online real estate delivery.
Quality 100 creates much larger files, but the visible improvement online is usually minimal. Since most platforms compress images again after upload, an oversized file does not always create a better final result.
Quality 90 gives us the best professional balance:
It keeps the image clean, sharp, detailed, and polished, while avoiding unnecessarily heavy files that can slow down uploads and platform processing.
The goal is not to deliver the biggest file. The goal is to deliver the right file.
What 3500 Pixels on the Long Edge Means
Images are made of pixels. The more useful pixel information the image has, the more detail it can hold.
When we export at 3500 pixels on the long edge, it means the longest side of the image is 3500 pixels, whether the photo is horizontal or vertical.
This gives the image plenty of resolution for MLS, Zillow, Airbnb, Vrbo, websites, property galleries, and social media. It also gives those platforms enough image data to work with before they resize or compress the photo.
If a file starts too small, compression can make it look soft or pixelated. Starting with a stronger image gives the final upload a better chance of looking sharp.
Why We Use 300 ppi
For online use, pixel dimensions matter more than ppi.
However, 300 ppi is still a clean professional export standard. It keeps image files consistent and gives clients flexibility if they need to use the images in additional marketing materials.
For web delivery, the most important number is still the actual pixel size of the image.
Why We Apply Screen Sharpening
Digital images need to look crisp on screens.
That is why we apply Screen, Standard output sharpening. This final export step helps the image retain clarity when viewed on listing platforms, websites, phones, tablets, and monitors.
It gives the image a polished finish without making it look overprocessed.
Why We Do Not Add Watermarks
The property should be the focus.
Watermarks can distract buyers, renters, agents, and guests from the actual space. Some platforms also discourage or restrict branded graphics on listing images.
That is why we deliver clean, watermark-free images that are ready for professional use.
Why This Matters for MLS, Zillow, Airbnb, Vrbo, and Websites
Every platform handles images differently.
Some resize images. Some compress them heavily. Some limit file size. Some display images differently on desktop and mobile.
Our delivery method is designed to give each platform a strong image file before that compression happens.
That matters because real estate images are not just files. They are marketing assets. They help create the first impression before someone schedules a showing, clicks a listing, books a stay, or requests more information.
The Simple Rule
We do not export tiny images just because platforms compress them.
We deliver strong, clean, high-quality files first, so each platform has a better image to process.
That means your photos are:
Sharp enough for modern websitesLarge enough for listing platformsClean enough for professional marketingEfficient enough for everyday useFlexible enough for multiple platforms
Final Thought
Professional real estate image delivery is about balance.
The file needs to be large enough to look sharp, but not unnecessarily oversized. It needs to be clean enough for websites, but strong enough for Zillow, MLS, Airbnb, Vrbo, and social media compression.
That is why we deliver high-quality JPEG images in sRGB, exported at Quality 90, sized at 3500 pixels on the long edge, with screen sharpening and no watermark.
Because the right image file does more than look good.
It works harder everywhere it gets uploaded.
